Dog Training Classes

We run dog training classes every week on a Monday at Alice Park in Larkhall Bath and on a Wednesday evening at Bath Vet Group Rosemary Lodge in Bath. We also run a dog club which is both online and in-person- the aim of dog club is to create a group of people that can teach their dog, socialise and help improve behaviour and confidence. Our 8-week puppy class is designed so that you and your puppy learn life skills that you can keep using and adapt as your puppy grows. Our dog club focuses on all the key skills needed to keep your dog of any age to be happy and healthy.

Our aims for each class:

  • To promote responsible dog ownership
  • Guide you and your dog to form a positive relationship
  • Educate you about everything dog from the law to how dogs learn
  • Enable you to continue with positive life-long training methods

Puppy Class

We run puppy classes every week on a Monday at Alice Park in Larkhall,  Bath and Wednesday evening at Rosemary Lodge Bath Vet Group in Bath. It is an 8-week course full of fun with your puppy learning how to train your dog positively! Teaching you and your puppy invaluable life skills to form a life long happy healthy relationship! Week 1 is all about you and so there is no need to bring your puppy along- we want you to learn the best of everything so its best your puppy has a break on week one so you can focus!

We have a maximum of 6 puppies per class with Sophie our qualified dog trainer. Throughout the classes you get full email support anytime you need it!

We will only accept puppies after their first-week vaccination and only from 8 weeks of age. Puppies must be no more than 6 months old on week 1 of classes. (Due to corona we are offering the classes to puppies that are up to 9th months of age).

Small information bags are provided on week 1 which will have a puppy guide and some treats for you to use with your puppy.

Our classes take place outside in real-life environments so that your puppy can learn the best in a normal environment. so please dress yourselves appropriately and your pups too!! 

We will only cancel if the weather makes it unsafe to get to the location or unsafe underfoot! We will be working on grassed areas too so wellies may be appropriate. (only ever canceled twice)

There are toilets at both locations and there is a lovely cafe at Alice park! 

(COVID-19 UPDATE) We are unable to provide bedding for puppies- please bring your own soft bedding, water bowl, and treats in a pot or treat bag. Also please bring with you hand sanitizer and use this before and after class. We ask for you to only have one person handling the puppy during the pandemic if other family members want to come to Alice park they can but they must stay away from the actual class whilst it is taking place. 

We will provide comfy bedding for the puppies, but please feel free to bring along a blanket or something that smells like home to allow your pup to be comfortable. Goodie bags are given out on week 1 and treats are always with us every week. On week 8 we will hand you out your certificate of completion!

There is ample parking at both venues! 

 

Dog Club

Our new training club in Bath is sometimes online via Zoom call but also sometimes at a variety of locations including rosemary lodge and Alice park. Dog club starts at 6 pm each evening on a Tuesday. These are paid as you go classes that you can come along and learn as much or little as you please. Each week will have a focus on one thing so for example recall and all the information, tasks and games will be centered on this skill. £12 per session (1-hour INCL VAT).  Open to all dogs over 5 months old, all abilities and families welcome. The sessions each week will run on a 40 minute training time and 20 min discussion, Q and A and practice session.
