Dog Day Care
We offer a daycare service in Heathers home in Bathampton, Bath. Daycare is a great way for your dog to get socialisation and lots of stimulation during the day whilst you are at work or out for a long day. When your dog is in our care for the day they got lots of exercise, enrichment, and playtime with other dogs. Your dog will be treated as if it is one of ours whilst they are with us and so rest assured that they are in safe hands. Dogs in daycare get at least a one hour’s walk each day, they have access to the large garden and someone is on-site with them 24 hours a day.
Puppy Play School
Due to the pandemic, We now offer puppy playschool each week at Bathampton on Wednesdays and Fridays each week 9-12.30 and 1 pm-4 pm. All puppies must be fully vaccinated and be less than 5.5 months old. To book an induction with your puppy please get in touch. We have opened this new service to help combat the lack of socialisation during the various lockdowns and to help with training your pup.
We make sure your dog has the highest level of care with us at a very competitive price. All dogs that come for daycare have to come to our home for induction to check they will fit in and are happy and also to let you come and meet us and our menagerie beforehand. All dogs must be fully vaccinated and up to date with worming and de-flead before they can use this service.
Doggy Day trips
We also do lots of doggy day out day trips with dogs that are in daycare, some of the places we visit are Westonbirt and Brean Beach and your dog will be out for the whole day with us enjoying their time. We may be able to offer a pickup and drop off service at times; however, this is not part of our standard service. Our drop off and pick up times are between 9 am and 10 am and between 4 pm and 5 pm. Sadly we do not take puppies in for our full daycare service, this is because a daycare environment can overstimulate young puppies and impact their behaviour and welfare.
We only walk a maximum of 6 dogs per person and so, therefore, we only offer a daycare service to 6 customers at a time, we do get booked up very early and so you may be on a waiting list for some time if you needed this service. Your dog must be comfortable around multiple dogs to take full advantage of our daycare service, this service is not used to modify a dog’s behaviour towards other dogs and all dogs that come to daycare are temperament tested prior to staying.
We are no longer taking on new customers for our dog boarding service.
Our boarding service is a great way for you to go away on holiday and relax knowing that your dog is enjoying their home from home environment boarding with us in our homes! We do not have kennels so dogs are boarded in our house with us and live with us like part of the family.
This is much less stressful than putting your dog into kennels, the dogs have their own dog room with comfy beds, sofas, and chairs to sit on as well as lots of toys and a fully enclosed rear garden to relieve themselves. Dogs that are boarding with us will receive regular exercise of at least an hour each day and stimulation but mostly 2 one hour walks and lots of playtimes. We have climbing frames, paddling pools, and much more for them to enjoy their little holiday with us. They may also join us on our doggie days out to the beach, Mendips or Westonbirt. We are fully licensed by the local council to board 6 customer dogs overnight and therefore fully insured to provide a home from home boarding service. All dogs that come for boarding have to be fully up to date with vaccinations and have to pass a temperament test before we agree to take them on board this will be completed at an induction which is necessary for every dog we board. We may also suggest that your dog stays with us for a trial day or overnight so that we can make sure they are settled and comfortable staying with us before you go on holiday. Whilst your dogs are boarding we can follow on with your daily routine and feeding regime and administer any medicines that are required. We have a 24 hour on-call vet Bath Veterinary Group in Bristol in case of any emergencies. Whilst you are away you can text to see how your dog is or look at our Facebook page for regular updates. We have very limited boarding spaces and so are currently only offering this service to our regular walking/visiting service users only. We do have animals of our own including an elderly cat, parrot, chickens, ducks, and 4 lovely dogs; Lucy the Retriever, Lola a Chihuahua, sonny a Chihuahua cross Chinese crested, and lily a Chihuahua. From time to time we also share our home with a foster dog, these dogs can come in with issues that need addressing and therefore they spend their time away from other dog guests however if they are social they will be allowed to have some playtime and share walks with your dog. All boarding dogs are transported in one of our fully kitted out vehicles.
