Dog Training Classes
COVID-19 UPDATE: IN-PERSON CLASSES ARE BACK!
We run dog training classes every week on a Monday at Alice Park in Larkhall Bath and on a Wednesday at Bath Vet Group Rosemary Lodge in Bath. Our 8-week puppy class is designed so that you and your puppy learn life skills that you can keep using and adapt as your puppy grows. Our dog club focuses on all the key skills needed to keep your dog of any age to be happy and healthy.
We also run a dog club which is both online and in-person at the George pub in Bathampton- the aim of dog club is to create a group of people that can teach their dog, socialise and help improve behaviour and confidence.
Our aims for each class:

- Educate you about everything dog from the law to how dogs learn
- Enable you to continue with positive life-long training methods
We run puppy classes every week on a Monday at Alice Park in Larkhall, Bath, and Wednesday at Rosemary Lodge surgery Bath Vet Group in Bath. It is an 8-week course full of fun with your puppy learning how to train your dog positively! Teaching you and your puppy invaluable life skills to form a life long happy healthy relationship! Week 1 is all about you and so there is no need to bring your puppy along- we want you to learn the best of everything so it’s best your puppy has a break on week one so you can focus!
We have a maximum of 6 puppies in our in-person class with Sophie our qualified dog trainer or Heather our behaviourist. Throughout the classes you get full email support anytime you need it!
We will only accept puppies after their first-week vaccination and only from 8 weeks of age as a minimum. Puppies must be no more than 6 months old on week 1 of classes. Week 1 is online to prevent boredom and puppies getting cold as we need you to understand terminology and principles before we can take you successfully through the course.
Party bags are provided on week 2 in-person which will have a puppy guide and some treats for you to use with your puppy.

Our classes take place outside in real-life environments so that your puppy can learn the best in a normal environment. so please dress yourselves appropriately and your pups too!!
We will only cancel if the weather makes it unsafe to get to the location or unsafe underfoot! We will be working on grassed areas too so wellies may be appropriate. (only ever canceled twice)
There are toilets at both locations and there is a lovely cafe in Alice park!
(COVID-19 UPDATE) We are unable to provide bedding for puppies- please bring your own soft bedding, water bowl, and treats in a pot or treat bag. Also please bring with you hand sanitiser and use this before and after class. We ask for you to only have one person handling the puppy during the pandemic if other family members want to come to Alice park they can but they must stay away from the actual class whilst it is taking place.
There is ample parking at both venues!
Our new training club in Bath is sometimes online via Zoom call but also sometimes at a variety of locations including rosemary lodge and Alice park. Dog club starts at 6 pm each evening on a Thursday. These are pay-as-you-go classes and you will be sent the link once you have paid if online in person please pay on the day. Each week will have a focus on one thing so for example recall and all the information, tasks and games will be centered on this skill. £15 per session (45min-1-hour INCL VAT). Open to all dogs over 5 months old, all abilities and families welcome. Class plans for the upcoming weeks are below, to book on please get in touch.
11th May 2021 6 pm The George Inn Bathampton: Drop – teach your dog to drop whatever they are carrying. Very important for safety and handy doe getting toys and balls back
18th May 2021 6 pm The George Inn Bathampton: DIY enrichment toys – learn to make a snuffle mat and have a chinwag with other owners, share stories and get advice on things you may be struggling with all the while encouraging your dogs to settle and trying different enrichment toys.
25th May 2021 6 pm The George Inn Bathampton: Hand touch – teach your dog basic targeting. Useful for maintaining focus for vet checks and grooming and builds a positive association with hands.
1st June 2021 6 pm The George Inn Bathampton: Training walk – group walk with the trainer for real-life training, socialisation, loose lead walking, and recall
8th June 2021 6 pm The George Inn Bathampton: Trick training – Teach your dog a “send around”. Send your dog away and around an obstacle then return to you. Very handy for maneuvering your dog as well as a key skill for agility.
15th June 2021 6 pm The George Inn Bathampton: Leave it – prevent your dog from investing and picking up potentially harmful objects or your favourite pair of shoes
22nd June 2021 6 pm The George Inn Bathampton: DIY enrichment toys – learn how to make a rope tug/chew toy, have a catch up with other owners, share stories and get advice in things you may be struggling with as well as practicing settle and lots of enrichment.
29th June 2021 6 pm The George Inn Bathampton: Trick training – Teach your dog to roll over. Expand luring skills, have fun 1 to 1 time with your dog and impress your friends.
6th July 2021 6 pm The George Inn Bathampton: Training walk – group walk with the trainer for real-life training, socialisation, loose lead walking, and recall
